Ask yourself this: is there something you hate about yourself? Why? Do you compare yourself to images of celebrities who spend a fortune on making themselves what the media tells you is “perfect“? You’re comparing yourself to a fallacy, to a carefully crafted body run by PR agencies, personal trainers, and not by the person you see in front of your eyes.
That person doesn’t exist.
Three years ago I had cervical cancer, and underwent changes in my body that still remain today. I was 21 years old, and became drastically unhappy with how I looked, to the point I could barely look at another human being fearing they saw what I did. But my own way to deal with this was to photograph others who I saw as beautiful, yet discovered that they actually felt the same way I did. Everyone has hang ups, things they wish they could change, and in worst case scenarios, things that actually stop them living the lives they dream of. The more people I speak to, the more I realise this is an epidemic of our generation. We strive to become perfect, to have the body of the stars, when in reality it’s an unobtainable goal. Diets and surgeries are temporary fixes, you’ll always find something new to change, something new you dislike. What needs to change is how you feel about yourself.
This is where I can help. Having been in the portrait and fashion industry for a few years now, I was shocked to see these women an
d men who we see as “perfect” actually leading miserable lives, lives where they constantly want to change themselves, look better, be better, and in complete denial of their original beauty. A portrait by me is not just a photograph. I don’t just snap the shutter and send you on your way. My passion is to show everyone how truly beautiful they are, how false the fashion world is, and how you don’t need to be a size 0 to be seen as
attractive. I want your personality to shine through.
A session with me involves a one to one chat on what you love and hate about yourself, and then as many hours in the studio as it takes toembrace this judgement on yourself. This can help in all manner of scenarios: have you recently been diagnosed with a body changing disease and would like a reminder of who you are? Would you like to get into modelling but are in need of help with posing, advice, or are you having body issues? Or are you just sick of always being the one in the photographs that people giggle at? Is it about time you had a genuinely gorgeous photo of you, one you can show generations to come how lovely you truly looked?
Email me for a quote. I deliberately keep my prices low so that everyone has a chance and feeling beautiful. To limit this experience to those with bundles of cash would defeat the purpose entirely. You are gorgeous, now let me show you.
